Miriam Gilad: Beyond Imagination

The photographer Miriam Gilad, who immigrated to Israel from England, strives towards the abstract and attempts to present a world composed of the interaction between patches of color, shapes and lines. Our brain absorbs colors and shapes which compose a whole world of sounds, smells and emotions. They stimulate all our senses, interact with them so that the result is a non-figurative world that contradicts routine. It creates a magical world with its own rules. All the elements consolidate and become an aesthetic and dynamic experience.
"I would like to attract the viewer's gaze towards the things that are hidden behind the visible. The purpose is that the viewer should not be passive but should be a partner in the interaction between the viewer and the photograph. The viewer completes the visual image from within a private world and personal experiences, and, thus, that inner world is exposed to a spiritual encounter."
