Sarit Mayer: Constructing Reality

Sarit Mayer (b. 1963, Ramat Gan; lives and works in Petah Tikva) creates in her studio at home, located in the courtyard, which she designed and built herself. She has been painting since a young age. An autodidact, she loves to experiment with a wide range of art forms, including set design, stained glass, sculpture, and even garden design. She studies at the Institute for Visual Arts in Petah Tikva under the distinguished artists, Dr. Anton Biderman and Yifat Schneller. Her profession as a tour guide in Israel and around the world, led to an encounter with different peoples and cultures that has influenced her lifestyle and life philosophy. Throughout her years of work, she photographed many landscapes and people around the world who crossed her path and collected pictures to commemorate her experiences.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, finding herself without work, she decided to fulfill a life-long dream and paint the pictures she had taken. From the moment she held the paintbrush, a dam that had been held back for many years opened, and since then, she cannot be stopped
