Michal Zakai: A Thread of Connection

"Between drops of tea and crumbs of bread, beside the plate or at the center of the table, there once lay cotton napkins – an everyday silent object, yet carrying a subtle presence.
In this series of embroideries, I seek to illuminate family bonds as they are – simple yet complex, tender yet deeply meaningful.
Each embroidery captures a moment in life, a delicate drawing in thread, on a table napkin – an object often perceived as unimportant or overlooked, yet it resonates the warmth, covering, and protection of fabric items in our lives.
On this fabric remains the imprint of touch, a memory of home." Michal Zakai
