The film tells the extraordinary story of Forrest Gump, a man of limited intellectual ability but boundless kindness, whose life is shaped by his enduring love for Jenny. From the 1950s through the 1970s, Forrest finds himself crossing paths with some of America's most famous figures and unwittingly taking part in momentous historical events. Yet, with his disarming innocence and simple outlook on life, he remains largely unaware of the significance of the history unfolding around him.
