Rejoicer (Yuval Havkin) is a musician and producer known for his unique signature sound and for leading innovative, international musical collaborations. His music is unique and compelling, partly due to synesthesia – his ability to hear sound as color.
In an original show for the Israel Festival, Rejoicer gathers a group of accompanying musicians - an ensemble of independent artists with the most distinctive voices in Israel today. Joining them on stage are Gal Toren, Shai Tsabari, Riff Cohen, and Alex Moshe (Folly Tree). Each of the participants brings a special energy that reflects the meditative zest of the entire show.
The evening revolves around the color blue, one of the dominant hues through which Rejoicer experiences sound. It is also the color of the sea, Yigal Havkin's (Rejoicer's father's) favorite place. He spends a significant portion of his time there on his boat, where he finds comfort and quiet. The blue-glowing musical textures are enveloped in stunning video art filmed on the boat. Between ambient spaces and groove, between instrumental and hypnotic beats - the show is a deep dive into sensory memories and colors that can be heard.
