Our story unfolds on a small fishing island in Greece, where life is simple and unhurried. The villagers live modestly, untouched by modern conveniences—no televisions, no cars, just a quiet, contented rhythm in which everyone knows one another and each finds happiness in their own way. One day, a boy named Esteban lifts a shell from the sea. When he blows into it, a golden fish rises from the depths—and it can speak. In exchange for its freedom, the fish promises to grant Esteban any wish. Word of the miracle spreads quickly. At first, the villagers’ wishes are modest, but soon their desires grow. The once-humble island is filled with cars, clutter, and refuse; the sea and beaches lose their pristine beauty. As Esteban comes to understand the cost of the wishes, including the damage to the environment, the strain on friendships, and the danger to the goldfish itself, he realizes something must change. For his final wish, he asks for a way to restore what has been lost and to ensure the story ends as it should.
