VeShuv Itchem (With You Again): Songs Composed by Nurit Hirsch
'Sing-along with the Orchestra' series
A Series of Public Singing Performances at the Jerusalem Theatre's Concert Hall
Featuring the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Eldad Shrem
Alongside Naomi Shemer, Nurit Hirsch stands as one of the most influential composers in Israeli popular music. Across an extensive and remarkably varied body of work—spanning the full spectrum of musical expression—Hirsch has, in effect, helped shape the canon of modern Israeli folk song. Her creations include enduring classics such as BaShana HaBa’ah (Next Year), Baderech El HaKfar (On the Road to the Village), Kvar Acharei Hatzot (It’s Past Midnight), Maqhela Aliza (A Merry Choir), Oseh Shalom Bimromav (He Who Makes Peace in the Heavens), and Balada LeShoter (Ballad for a Policeman). Alongside these stand beloved children’s songs, works for military troupes, and music for television and film, forming together a vast repertoire of hits that have become part of our cultural fabric.
