Carmen

The Israel Ballet

World Premiere of a New Stage Adaptation

An original stage adaptation of the timeless classic, choreographed by internationally acclaimed choreographer Konstantin Uralsky for the Israeli Ballet and set to Bizet’s celebrated score, newly arranged by composer Gil Shochat. Maestro Shochat—one of the most pivotal figures in Israeli classical music—infuses the work with a dramatic, richly layered interpretation that remains true to the original’s spirit while infusing it with contemporary intensity. Uralsky’s choreographic language is bold, precise, and compelling. His vision brings to life a free-spirited, uncompromising heroine who navigates the charged terrain between passion and power, love and destiny.

The result is a striking synthesis of virtuosity and theatrical force, placing the dancers at the heart of a vivid encounter of emotion, rhythm, and movement. The production offers an exhilarating, accessible, and deeply engaging experience—appealing to lovers of dance, classical music, and theatre alike.
