From Reality Show Kitchens to Real Restaurant Kitchens
'Jerusalem of Flavors' series
A Series on Food, Identity, Neighborhood Folklore – A Journey Through Jerusalem's Food Stories | Amit Aaronson Hosts Jerusalemite Chefs
We'll meet two of the city's biggest culinary stars who have risen over the past two decades. Both began their journeys in the food world as complete unknowns, participated in the "Master Chef" reality show, and went on to open successful restaurants. Chef Avi Levy, winner of the second season of "Master Chef," used his TV success to open the "Hamotzi" restaurant and other ventures like "Mitzle" and "Beit Hakavan." In recent years, he has also hosted television shows. Chef Rachel Ben Elul took part in the fifth season and later in the VIP season of "Master Chef," reaching the final stage both times. She now runs three successful eateries in the "Sarona Market" complex in Tel Aviv, and the legendary "Rachel Basdera" sandwich kiosk on Jerusalem's Ben Maimon Boulevard.
The conversation between Ben Elul and Levy will range from childhood taste memories in Jerusalem to the dishes they’ve created and introduced to the local food scene.
