This new work by Noa Wertheim and Rina Koren Wertheim, created under the auspices of the Vertigo Dance Company, is a sensory, physical journey into an elusive dimension: time. Seeking to decode the pulse of humanity, the dance explores the tension between the body’s inevitable decline and the human longing for immortality, for continuity, for endurance.

The title alludes to the Greco-Roman myth of the three goddesses who weave the thread of each human life. As in the myth, time in the dance unravels and is rewoven—measured, stretched, cut, and transformed. In the wake of extreme events such as those we have experienced in recent months, the work invites reflection on how we choose to live, and on what it truly means to “be present” in an ever-changing reality.

Nona is a work about time, but it also invites us to stop, listen, and move, reminding us of the fact that time, though fleeting, remains the only thing we truly hold in our hands, like a gossamer thread to pull, unravel, and reconnect.
