Yehuda Poliker: 40 Years to the Album “My Eyes”
Jerusalem International Oud Festival, 2025 Closing performance
Yehuda Poliker’s first solo album, "My Eyes", was released in 1985 and is considered a masterpiece that spread the message of Greek music as a rich and poetic genre. The album broke through with its fusion of East and West, between rock, Greek folklore, and Mediterranean touches, with lyrics that Poliker and Yaakov Gilad translated into Hebrew. "My Eyes" is one of the most beloved and influential albums in the history of Israeli music. Poliker also received the Greek President’s Medal for his contribution to the dissemination of Greek culture in Israel and around the world.
40 years later, Poliker is staging a new show where he will take the audience on a roots-based musical journey, featuring not only hits from the album but also hits from the Benzene band, songs from his solo albums, and classics from Greek music across generations.
