Cinema Pre-premiere Series
Norway, 2025
A film by Brwa Vahabpour
Featuring: Peiman Azizpour, Hamza Agooshi, and Sarah Francesca Brænne
98 minutes | Norwegian and Kurdish with Hebrew and English subtitles
In the middle of a rainy night, Akam—son of immigrants from Kurdistan who settled in Norway— is awakened by a ringing at the door of his shared apartment. To his surprise, standing outside is his uncle, newly arrived from Iran. Out of respect and still in shock, Akam agrees to host the newcomer for a couple of days. What begins as a humorous clash of cultures between the guest and Akam's roommates soon takes an unsettling turn, as Akam starts to suspect that his uncle has no intention of leaving—and may not be telling the full truth about his situation.
