Eternal Love

The Israeli Andalusian Orchestra Ashdod

Peregrinations between Exile and Redemption

Conductor and Arrangements: Omer Avital
Artistic Direction: Elad Levy
Featuring: Moshe Louk and Yehiel Louk (vocals), and the Centre for Paytanut and Vocal Arts Choir, Ashdod

A state-of-the-art concert that bridges the worlds of jazz and piyyut, infusing modern elements into an ancient tradition.

Fifteen years ago, a groundbreaking project was born that wove together the worlds of piyyut and jazz. Composer Omer Avital, in collaboration with Yair Harel, created a performance centered around the legendary paytan Rabbi Chaim Louk. This artistic journey traced the path of Jewish communities in the Diaspora, leading up to the modern settlement in Israel, while blending contemporary jazz with the timeless beauty of time-honored Andalusian piyyut.

Carrying on that legacy, Moshe and Yechiel Louk, Rabbi Chaim Louk's nephews, step onto the stage, continuing to bridge tradition and innovation.
