Fifteen-year-old Eugene is a charming, captivating, and vibrant Jewish boy fostering high hopes: he dreams of becoming a famous writer or baseball player and falling head-over-heels in love. Through his eyes, we get acquainted with the growing-up process in the bosom of an extended Jewish family living in a cramped apartment in Brooklyn during America's economic depression in the late thirties. Amidst the difficulties of family relations and financial straits, his parents teach him the power of love, humor, determination, and hope.

The most sensitive and beloved play by Neil Simon, one of the twentieth century's greatest playwrights.
