The musical unfolds a sweeping love story encapsulating the modern history of the Jewish people – from the brink of destruction to revival. The play started as a local production and slowly gained recognition until it became an acclaimed international success. It relates the story of Samuel and Rebecca, two children in the horrendous death camp Auschwitz, through their struggle to regain their lives and human dignity, their meeting on board of an illegal immigrant ship, until their arrival as refugees in Israel, where they begin to build their new existence as friends and life partners. 

"From Darkness to Light" is a poetic story of love and hope calling for preserving the memory of those who struggled, survived, and continued.
