Thomas Edison grew up in a small village in the US. He was considered a strange child who failed to meet the accepted requirements of society, family, and school. He was preoccupied with phenomena that no one knew how to explain and obsessively carried out hazardous science experiments, frequently on the brink of causing havoc and destruction. Very often, Thomas's father became quite angry with his son for the remuneration he had to pay to cover damages his son had caused. But Edison's curiosity grew, and he did everything he could to finance his experiments from his own pocket. Eventually, the conflict between the boy and his environment deteriorated; Thomas felt rejected by all. He was very unhappy and decided to run away from home. But then, almost miraculously, something made everyone understand the power of Edison's inventiveness: his close friend needed urgent surgery, but that was impossible because the evening had fallen, and surgery by the light of an oil lamp was not possible, so Thomas found a solution: he brought into the house the electric bulb he had invented, and later on, his bulbs lit up to the whole world.

  • Reviews:
"A charming play that humanely and sensitively conveys Edison's biographical story, making it accessible to children who must have heard in school that it is important to accept the other. Also, they learn that the path to success is not easy and may be full of obstacles." (Calcalist)
