By: Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse

(based on Maria von Trapp's memoir "The Story of the Trapp Family Singers")

Translator: Eli Bijaoui

Director: Nathan Datner

Austria, 1938. Maria, a young nun full of joie de vivre, finds it difficult to comply with the convent's strict rules. Consequently, the Mother Superior sends her to serve as a nanny for the seven children of Captain von Trapp, a widowed and austere Austrian army officer. Soon, Maria turns the vo Trapp household from a garrison of strict rules and iron discipline to a home full of joy, laughter, and music. She wins the children's hearts and later their father's. However, when the two decide to get married, the Nazi occupation of Austria mars the idyll. On their way to a better life elsewhere, the von Trapp family faces challenges and menaces.
