Zorba the Greek

Beer-Sheva Theater, in cooperation with Habima Theatre

In an adaptation of the famous novel by Nikos Kazantzakis

Basil, a writer and university professor, experiences a personal crisis: he is dismissed from his job and suffers from writer's block. So, as a last resort, he decides to travel to the Greek island of Crete to try to reactivate an old coal mine left to him by his father. He meets Alexis Zorba, a Greek worker with a unique worldview who loves to drink, dance, and hang out with women. An extraordinary friendship develops during their stay on the island, forcing Basil to confront his demons and look with new eyes at life itself. An exciting and funny story about friendship, freedom, and self-acceptance.
