To Be a Man Gil Shohat hosts Avihu Medina

Classic Meets the Pop

A meeting of giants who seemingly represent opposite worlds: the classical musician vs. the Mediterranean pop style. However, the truth is that the similarities are greater than the differences: these are two artists who do not like to be classified, who admire classics in the broadest sense of the word, believe in combined human spirit and creativity, rather than focusing on what divides. Thus, an original work takes shape on stage, woven warp and weft from the songs of Avihu Medina, which have become Israeli classics, and the sounds of the rich classical orchestra of Gil Shohat, and a full performance of the marvelous and popular guitar concerto by Rodrigo.

Participants:
Avihu Medina
The Polyphonia Ensemble
Gil Shohat—piano, conducting and musical direction
