Eyal Ezra: Jerusalem Skies

Eyal Ezra (b. 1967, Petah Tikva) is a painter, who began to paint oils in 2019. From his point of view, the two important elements of painting are composition and the use of primary colors. In this way, the viewer is drawn to the painting, which elicits emotion. Ezra’s paintings characteristically combine realism with Expressionism.
The current series on exhibition "Jerusalem Skies" focuses on Jerusalem landscapes, presenting the city through the eyes of the artist. Ezra visits Jerusalem regularly on holidays. The atmosphere fills him with positive energy. With expressive brushstrokes and the use of a palette knife, Ezra conveys the feeling and ambience of the city.
Further, as the artist explains: "If the paintings in the series appear unfinished, it is because Jerusalem is infinite. The emphasis on the clouds reflects the spirituality, which is felt everywhere. The shade of blue further accents the spirituality, and positively affects the mood of the viewer".
