Ronit Alon: Bag of the Hour
In the series "Bag of the Hour", Ronit Alon (b. Jerusalem) examines the duality of concrete properties: stiffness and softness, roughness and precision, solidity and vulnerability; qualities that also exist in the various "bags" that we carry with us throughout our lives. Concrete is strong, firm, stable, heavy, and almost timeless. The concrete securely envelops the contents of the bag, a hint of the solid body that envelops the soul. In her youth, Alon made her own bags according to her needs. In present she creates in a wide variety of materials, painting in oil, watercolor, and ink.
The exhibition is dedicated to my parents and sister, of blessed memory.
