Mark Isaac: ROAD KILL
Mark Isaac (b. 1948, Toronto, Canada; lives and works in Jerusalem) is a versatile artist interested in printing and copying. "Road Kill" refers to Found Objects on the side of a road. In the series, everyday objects undergo a process of almost metaphysical awakening and are recreated: the stained becomes beautiful; the ruined becomes one-of-a-kind. The viewer of the exhibition gradually becomes more aware of his surroundings. The artist seeks to effect a change in the perspective of the viewer, wherein a seemingly crude object can become something sensual and desirable.
The sense of texture is evident in the works, mystery and softness.
