Chopin the Virtuoso
The Pianist Michael Zartsekel (Israel)
- Études op. 10
- Études op. 25
- Trois Nouvelles Études
The repertory of études, short musical compositions of considerable difficulty designed to provide practice material for perfecting the pianists' technical skill, was highly enriched by the masterpieces Chopin composed between 1830 and 1836. The 24 Études were published in two volumes, and, thanks to their artistic depth and the technical challenges they pose, are considered to be one of the pinnacles of piano music. From the "Waterfall Étude", through the "Revolution Étude" to the "Ocean Étude", they promise a fascinating journey to the realms of romantic piano music. The concert will include 3 études written between 1837 and 1843,
and published posthumously.
