Un ballo in maschera (A Masked Ball)

Opera on Screen Series

Screened operas from the world's most prestigious opera houses and festivals, with eye-opening introduction lectures by the series' editor, Merav Barak

By: Giuseppe Verdi
Stage: Arena di Verona Festival
Language: Italian (Hebrew subtitles only)

A gripping opera inspired by true events, the opera weaves together romance, intrigue, and suspense in a story of passion and betrayal. Riccardo, the governor of Boston, is secretly in love with Amelia, the wife of his closest friend. As a political conspiracy threatens his life, this forbidden love propels him toward a fateful masked ball, where a tragic prophecy materializes.

Verdi's masterful score heightens the drama at every turn, blending intimacy with grandeur to create a powerful theatrical experience.
