Lia Koenig "comes home" — to the voices of the Yiddish writers and poets who shaped her world, some of whom she knew personally.
In a one-of-a-kind evening, Lia will breathe life into the giants of Yiddish literature: from Sholem Aleichem and his unforgettable women, through Mark Warshawsky and his beloved song "Der Aleph-Beis", from Itzik Manger's biting poetry and satire, to folk melodies and the golden songs of the Yiddish theatre. In a heartfelt tribute, she will also honor her late husband, Zvi Stolper, who wrote countless sketches and poems for her — treasures of which several will see the stage for the very first time this evening.
