With the participation of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra conducted by Eldad Shrem

Military Entertainment Troupes were a unique Israeli phenomenon; they consisted of male and female soldiers whose military role was to entertain combat soldiers. Over the decades, these troupes have become a major factor in Israeli culture. They launched the careers of many of our greatest stars; they were the growth beds of numerous unforgettable musical works that accompanied our lives in wars and between wars and expressed the national sentiment in its struggle for independence and peace.
Every era had its songs, and every war its anthems. In all the wars we have had to fight - from the War of Independence onwards - the Military Entertainment Troupes' songs reflected our national moods. Some intended to raise morale, others to express grief over the heavy losses.
This show will feature a selection of songs that have become era-defining symbols: "Bab al-Wad," "Mul Har Sinai" (Facing Mount Sinai), "Shir LaShalom" (Song for Peace), "Behe'akhzut Hanahal BeSinai" (In the Nahal Settlement in the Sinai), and also entertaining and humorous songs.
