Houdini
Jerusalem Ballet
World premiere by Nadia Timofeeva, the Troupe's director
The show is centered around the larger-than-life figure of magic and stunt artist Erich Weisz, who gained fame under the name Harry Houdini. Daring escape maneuvers, where Houdini freed himself from shackles, chains, and ropes while hanging upside down from a great height or placed in a cistern full of water, excited crowds and pressed him to perfect his shows more and more. What made Houdini endanger his life through repeated scenarios of tying himself up and releasing himself? And what were the real shackles he tried to break free from?
