Yudl Babchik is approaching his 57th birthday. Like his ancestors, he's about to succumb to a mysterious curse that has claimed the lives of all members of the Babchik family at this age. Yudl must decide who will inherit his beloved Babchik Restaurant - his youngest son, energetic Yoineh, who always dreamed of taking over the business, or his slick eldest, Chazkel, who has returned to the city after an extended stay in the US. The feud between the two brothers over the restaurant also turns into a duel over the heart of beautiful Miriam Yapchik, their childhood sweetheart. When Yoineh realizes that he's about to lose the restaurant, he tries to remove the looming curse. Will he be able to trick the Angel of Death?
