Four decades of Shlomi Shabbat's dizzying musical career do not help us determine where he stands on the East-West axis. His voice is bluesy, his style carries veins of Rock and Soul, and his vocal expression is orientally juicy. Shabbat is a perfect specimen of Israel's complex, colorful, and multi-layered music. In this concert, Shabbat will present his gems, echoing Turkish and Ladino sources and the romantic influences of Arab music--all combined to create a rich, nostalgic tapestry.
