Based on the life story of Polish boxer Tadeusz "Teddy" Pietrzykowski
In 1940, Teddy was placed - with other non-Jewish political prisoners – on the first transport to the Auschwitz concentration camp. When the camp commanders found out that Teddy was a former boxing champion, they forced him to fight for his life and the lives of other prisoners. Every victory Teddy wins strengthens the hope that the Nazis are not invincible. When the camp authorities put Teddy to his final battle, it is not only his life he must fight for but also the freedom and dignity of all the prisoners and their hope for survival.
