Yurdal Tokcan is one of the world’s leading oud players. He studied with the influential master Tambori Nacdet Yaşar and became a master in his own right. Tokcan has a uniquely refined sense of sound, has taught generations of students and his playing combines oud-playing traditions with stylistic innovations. Tokcan played with nai master Kudsi Ergüner and has performed around the world with classical and modern musical ensembles.

The ÛDÎ  project is a faithful reflection of Tokcan’s virtuosity and his ongoing work with his students. He artistically weaves a contemporary approach to Turkish traditional music, his own original works, as well as Turkish songs that correspond with foreign musical cultures. The ensemble includes two talented oud players, Ufuk Kaan İçli and Tolga Karaslan. Their collaboration with him has already received praise in Turkey and abroad.
