All the Rivers
The Cameri Theatre
According to Dorit Rabinian's bestselling book
Towards the end of the second intifada, somewhere in snowy New York, two young Middle Easterners meet by chance: Liat Binyamini (29), an Israeli translator staying in the city as part of a scholarship, and Hilmi Nasser (27), a Palestinian painter, native of Hebron, living in Brooklyn. A significant bond quickly develops, but can they cherish their love in isolation? Hilmi and Liat imagine themselves free and in their New York bubble, but voices haunting them from overseas, from either side of the "fence," are an irresistible reminder that they are not entirely alone.
